European multinational aerospace manufacturer Airbus announced on February 23rd that the Serbian Ministry of Defense has ordered two Airbus C-295 transport planes, with delivery scheduled for late 2023.
The Spanish-made C-295 is a medium-sized transport plane used for parachute and cargo drops, tactical and logistical transport and medical evacuations.
Serbia has a long-running relationship with Airbus. In 2018, the country bought nine Airbus H-145Ms for delivery to the Serbian Air Force and Ministry of Interior. Serbia’s national flag carrier Air Serbia currently has thirteen Airbus aircraft in operating in its fleet.
